Air Filter Highlight: Hi-E 40

The Purolator Hi-E 40 is our best-selling air filter!

Purolator Hi-e 40 pleated air filters provide consumers with lower resistance, higher dust holding capacity, and max durability at cost-efficient prices. Hi-e 40 medium-efficiency air filters feature an extended surface and uniform pleat shape that makes them an excellent choice for high-performance, demanding applications.

With double-wall thickness around the outer edge and integral die-cut cross members, Hi-e 40 filters provide maximum strength and rigidity. Hi-E 40 filters will not rack, warp or bend under normal handling or operating conditions. The inside of the filter's die-cut frame is completely coated with adhesive to guarantee a solid bond at all points of contact, and the die-cut boxes are bonded to each other. The media pack is sealed inside of the frame, and the pleat tips are bonded to the diagonal support members. The new die-cut pattern increases contact points between the beverage board and die-cut by 50%!

Hi-E 40 air filters are made of 100% synthetic fibers to achieve a MERV 8 performance. The hydrophobic synthetic media used to construct Hi-e 40 filters allows for 35-40% average efficiency and nearly 95% average arrestance. The MERV 8 media has a Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) adhesive that is not affected by mold or microbial growth.

Because of their sturdy frame material, Hi-e 40 air filters are moisture-resistant enough for tough handling and difficult service conditions. The adhesive used to bond the frame and media pack is highly water repellent. The filter pleats stay together, even when wet - no delaminating, no excessive buckling, and no collapsing.

How many pleats have you seen with rust flaking off the grid? The Hi-E 40 expanded metal pleat support grid is made of galvanized steel for maximum rust resistance. The metal grid maintains the pleat shape and prevents fluttering in operation. Purolator's sophisticated production control techniques establish consistent pleat count, pleat height, pleat shape, and spacing. The consistent pleat shape minimizes resistance and improves dirt loading throughout the life of the filter.

Nobody pays more attention to media specifications than Purolator Air Filters. Rigid requirements for resistance, efficiency, MERV values, and dust holding capacity are verified by QC checks on incoming raw materials, production line sampling, and field audits of finished goods.

Purolator Hi-e 40 filters are available in 1", 2", or 4" depths and several standard face sizes to accommodate most system requirements. Hi-E 40 filters are effective as stand-alone filters or prefilters.
